Local departure by coach, then on to rural Cumbria and our hotel for four festive nights.
Today we visit the picturesque market town of Keswick. Overlooked by the dramatic Skiddaw range in the north and the expansive Derwentwater in the south, the town enjoys an idyllic location in the north of the Lake District.
We then visit pretty Grasmere before returning to the hotel.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy breakfast this morning before opening some presents or taking a stroll in the hotel surroundings. We have a glass of kir royal and then a traditional Christmas Day lunch. There will be the chance to watch the King's Speech.
We depart the hotel this morning, filled with magical Christmas memories, and return home.
