After some free time to explore, enjoy a cruise with a twist as you glide over the remarkable Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – known as the River in the Sky. Built between 1795 and 1805, this engineering masterpiece rises 126 feet (38 metres) above the River Dee and is supported by 18 stone piers. Stretching 1,007 feet (307 metres) in length, the canal’s iron trough carries clear water fed from the River Dee at Horseshoe Falls.
