This morning, we enjoy a journey aboard the lovingly restored carriages of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from the market town of Pickering. We travel to pretty Goathland, which featured in Downton Abbey and is set in the heart of the North York Moors.
We then take a trip along the North Yorkshire coastline to reach the colourful fishing port of Whitby.
Beneath the beautiful castle ruins of the Abbey, this bustling harbour town is a delight to explore! Perhaps take the 199 steps up to the abbey to admire the views, enjoy some of the best fish and chips in the world at the Magpie Café, or perhaps shop for some famous Whitby Jet jewellery!
Enjoy a day at leisure in Scarborough and discover what has been bringing visitors to this traditional seaside resort for over a century!
If you'd prefer, you can join us on our optional excursion along the coast to Flamborough Head, where you may see its colony of grey seals! We also discover Bridlington and the delightful market town of Beverley, where the Market Cross still stands proudly in the centre of the bustling market place.
